Listen To The Koenigsegg Jesko’s Twin-Turbo V8 Roar And Spit Flames At Goodwood

The Goodwood Festival of Speed might have ended over two weeks ago, but new videos of some of the world’s most exclusive cars tackling the famous hill continue to surface online. The latest of these videos involves the Koenigsegg Jesko, and we get the pleasure of listening to its menacing sound as it makes its way around the festival.

Powered by a 5.0L twin-turbo flat-plane crank V8, which is claimed to be the fastest-revving engine to ever be fitted in a production vehicle, the Jesko makes an insane 1,578 hp (1,600 PS / 1,177 kW) and 1,106 lb-ft (1,500 Nm) of torque on E85 fuel. Even on regular pump gas, it still produces an impressive 1,262 hp (1,280 PS / 941 kW) and 738 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque.

That allows the car to make the run from 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) in just 2.5 seconds on its way to a theoretical top speed of 300 mph (483 km/h). And if we’re talking about the low-drag Absolut configuration, which makes a brief appearance in the beginning of the video, that top speed figure raises to 330 mph (531 km/h), which puts it up there with some of the fastest production cars in the world.

At idle, the engine it sounds much less high-strung than a lot of other exotic supercars and hypercars, but under load, coupled with the sound of spooling turbos in the background, it livens up, producing a sound we could only describe as ferocious. Off the throttle, there’s plenty of pops and crackles, and we’re even treated to the occasional flame out the exhaust.
