Peugeot revealed the first styling cues of the upcoming Inception concept in a series of teasers, prior to its debut on January 5 at CES Las Vegas. The concept will introduce Peugeot’s new design language that will gradually find its way into the next generation of production EVs.
The Inception was announced last October, but this is the first time we get to see parts of the actual vehicle. The teasers are quite cryptic but give us an idea of what to expect. The grille features a trio of illuminated strips next to the Peugeot emblem, while the simplified LED graphics of the taillight retain the three-claw design. There is also an illuminated circle, and the Peugeot Inception Concept lettering, presumably from somewhere on the bodywork.
According to Peugeot, the concept “opens a new era” for the brand, focused on its three main values – Allure, Emotion, and Excellence. The French automaker talks about a “feline” attitude, a “revolutionary” interior design, and “unprecedented” driving sensations.
All we know is that the Inception previews a full range of future production models by Peugeot referred to as “e-Native”. Those will be based on EV-dedicated architectures, most likely the STLA platforms. Our guess is that the Inception will feature a very powerful dual electric motor setup combined with the largest available battery. It is also expected to showcase the latest in terms of ADAS and infotainment technology.
We will learn more about the Peugeot Inception concept as we move closer to its debut at the Consumer Electronics Show.
