This story contains renders created by independent digital artist Sugar Design, who’s neither related to nor endorsed by Lynk & Co.

While seeing a Lynk & Co vehicle on the road remains a rare sight in most countries, the Chinese car manufacturer recently produced its 800,000th vehicle and has a compelling range of models in its line-up. There is one type of vehicle that it is missing, however, namely a potent off-roader that could rival vehicles like the Ford Bronco and Land Rover Defender.

Eager to see what such a vehicle from the brand could look like, Sugar Design took matters into his own hands and has imagined an off-road-focused variant of one of the brand’s SUVs.

While the designer says the creation is based on the 03, which is Lynk & Co’s sedan, it looks more like the 01 SUV and 02 SUV. Nevertheless, the changes made to it are significant and start at the front end where the fascia is bathed in matte black and sports a radical new bumper with enlarged air intakes and two square spotlights.

Sugar Design has also altered the SUV with a set of flared wheel arches at both the front and rear, while also fitting a set of simple wheels wrapped in mud-terrain tires. The modifications continue with an increased ride height, a matte black rear bumper, roof racks supporting a large storage pod, and a modified tailgate supporting a full-size spare wheel and tire. New exhausts are also visible.

While it doesn’t appears as though a vehicle like this is in Lynk & Co’s immediate future, we wouldn’t put it past the brand in launching an off-roader like this at some stage. The company has released a host of eye-catching special edition models over the years, including the 03+ Cyan Edition and the 05+, two models adorned with various carbon fiber accessories and aerodynamic upgrades.
