Dongfeng Motor Corporation’s luxury EV brand, Voyah, has just unveiled its third production model in China, dubbed the Zhuiguang. Taking the form of an electric sedan, the Zhuiguang is priced between 322,900 yuan and 432,900 yuan ($46,310 – $62,100) and will reach the hands of customers in the first quarter of 2023.

Underpinning the Zhuiguang is the company’s ESSA+SOA platform that can support battery-electric, hybrid, and hydrogen powertrains. Shoppers will be able to pick up the keys to the EV with either an 86 kWh battery pack or a 109 kWh pack with claimed ranges of 580 km (360 miles) and 730 km (453 miles) respectively.

Giving the Voyah Zhuiguang its go is a 218 hp electric motor at the front wheels and a 292 hp motor at the rear wheels, resulting in a combined 510 hp and 538 lb-ft (730 Nm) of torque. It is claimed that the EV can hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in as little as 3.8 seconds and top out at a 210 km/h (130 mph) top speed. Adding to the appeal of the luxurious sedan is the fact that the battery’s range can be boosted 230 km (198 miles) in just 10 minutes of charging.

The exterior design of the EV could be best described as sleek and unoffensive. The front end has a pair of simple LED headlights connected by a full-width light bar while the sides have wheels designed to improve aerodynamics and cameras in the front quarter panels, just like current Tesla models. Car News China notes that it also has pop-out door handles and a drag coefficient of just 0.225.

Voyah’s designers have also created a rear-end that looks particularly intriguing thanks to the LED taillights, light bar, and a deployable spoiler that lifts neatly out from the decklid. The car also has 12 cameras, 5 millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and two high-precision positioning units. It is 5,088 mm (200 inches) long, 1,970 mm (77.5 inches) wide, 1,505 mm (59.2 inches) tall and has a 3,000 mm (118-inch) wheelbase, the same as the spacious Hyundai Ioniq 5.
