The words Chrysler 300 often conjure mental images of a squared-off pseudo-luxury sedan that’s been the brand’s flagship for nearly two decades. Before it, Chrysler leaned heavily on its LH platform and this concept is from that time. It stands out as a one-off example of how luxurious the model could be. Now, it can be yours for less than the price of a new 300 Touring.

Crafted by American Specialty Cars (ASC) out of Warren, Michigan, this prototype concept isn’t too far afield from a normal Chrysler LHS. The biggest external differences are the bumpers and the round headlights found at the front of the car. Those chrome headlight housings are so shiny that they still reflect the outside world clearly.

Under the hood is the same 3.5-liter V6 powertrain utilized in the rest of the LH lineup but it’s what’s in the cabin that really makes this prototype special. There, you’ll find a totally custom set of leather-upholstered seats in Italian Bronze and black. Like many other ASC projects, this car has a special roof too.

Bygone Chrysler 300 Prototype Concept Still Searching For A Home

Gone is the steel roof and in its place is a full glass roof with a power-operated sunshade. It’s a subtle but special touch that foreshadowed the huge panoramic sunroofs we see across the market today. Unique 300 logos are littered and sometimes embroidered throughout the cabin and on the rear bumper.

This truly is a time capsule and according to the listing over on Hemmings, the car still has just 1,000 miles on the odometer. We actually covered this same car when it was on sale more than a decade ago. Back then, it had the same photos and evidently only had 350 miles on it. Back in 2010, the seller wanted $25,998 for it.

Today, it’s listed for $35,000. That’s just barely less than a brand-new Chrysler 300 which goes for $35,140 after destination charges. Either price feels pretty low for a one-off prototype with such low mileage. But this isn’t a seriously important collector car so it might stay up for sale for some time.
