Thanks to the modifications, the Defender AT35 feels right at home in extreme off-road conditions

The Land Rover Defender has proven to be a hit for the British automaker so it is no surprise that several tuners have stepped in with kits and accessories for the iconic model. Arctic Trucks, known for its off-road conversions, applied the AT35 treatment to the Defender, enhancing its capabilities in harsh environments.
The highlight of the Defender AT35 is the massive 35-inch pneumatic tires (315/60/R20) wrapped around 20-inch forged alloy wheels. The new shoes are combined with a lift kit for the suspension that is compatible with both the adaptive air suspension and the regular springs.
Predictably, the Arctic Trucks’ Defender sits a lot higher than the regular version coming from the Land Rover factory. More specifically, the ground clearance has been increased up to 360 mm (14.1 inches) with the air springs in the highest setting, compared to the 290 mm (11.4 inches) of the stock Defender. Similarly, the lifted spring suspension offers 270 mm (10.6 inches) of ground clearance compared to the stock 228 mm (9 inches).
In order to cover the wider tracks, the tuner added its signature fender extensions. In the pictured example, the fenders are painted black, matching the lower part of the bumpers and bodywork. They are combined with mudguards, Arctic Trucks graphics/emblems, a Warn winch, and an electric towbar. Since the SUV will likely spend a lot of time covered in snow and mud, the tuner applied an anti-corrosion coating to the seams.
The speedometer has been recalibrated in accordance with the larger-diameter wheels, but there are no modifications in the engine compartment. Thus, the mild-hybrid 3.0-liter petrol engine of the Defender P400 produces 395 hp (294 kW / 400 PS) and 550 Nm (405.7 lb-ft) of torque. Power is transmitted to all four wheels through the standard eight-speed automatic gearbox.

The Land Rover Defender AT35 was introduced by the Russian arm of Arctic Trucks, with photos and video footage showing it roaming the snowy mountains. We don’t have information about the cost of the modifications but the pictured Defender P400 is currently available to order from the official website at an undisclosed price.
