The 2024 BMW X3 continues its slow march to production and spy photographers have now gotten a look inside.

While the prototype’s cabin is heavily disguised, we can see the model will be equipped with a new Curved Display.  There’s no word on specifics at this point, but the X3 likely has a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch infotainment system.  If that’s the case, it would be a significant step up from the 10.25- and 10.7-inch displays found in the X1.

Putting the screens aside, the prototype features a new flat-bottom steering wheel and updated switchgear.  Speaking of the latter, the X3 is the latest BMW to trade its traditional shifter for a more minimalist gear selector.

Moving outside, the crossover has an evolutionary and streamlined appearance.  While the camouflage hides a number of details, we can see the model will have a prominent grille that is flanked by sweptback headlights.  Further below, there’s slender air curtains and a wide central intake that has a pronounced vertical support in the center.

The changes continue aft of the A-pillar as the X3 adopts a curvaceous shoulder line and flush-mounted door handles. They’re joined by a sloping roof and a four-tailpipe exhaust system.

Engine options remain unconfirmed, but we can expect four- and six-cylinder units as well as plug-in hybrid and electric powertrains.  Specifics are still hazy, but the current model offers a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 248 hp (185 kW / 252 PS) as well as a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six developing 382 hp (285 kW / 387 PS).
