The Nissan Ariya e-4ORCE will be modified but will be very similar to the production model

Nissan has previewed the modified Ariya e-4ORCE that it will drive in an epic journey from the magnetic North Pole to the South Pole.

The modified EV will travel over 17,000 miles during the journey in what will be a first for an electric vehicle. It will be unveiled in full next month but we already know that it will feature a jacked-up ride and flared wheel arches to accommodate larger wheels and tires.

Piloting the Ariya e-4ORCE will be British adventurer Chris Ramsey and his wife Julie Ramsey.

“Daring to do what others don’t, Nissan and the team of extreme pioneers at Pole to Pole are pushing the limits of electric mobility, accelerating towards a cleaner, safer, more inclusive world,” region vice president product and services planning at Nissan, Clíodhna Lyons, said in a press release. “In undertaking and completing this ambitious expedition, we hope to reach and inspire action in others all around the world, demonstrating the prowess of electric vehicles and speeding up adoption as part of the solution to reducing global emissions.”

Nissan started accepting orders for the Ariya in November 2021 and offers it in a multitude of different guises. The range kicks off from $43,190 with the Ariya Engage FWD 63 kWh and also includes the Venture+ FWD 87 kWh ($47,190), Evolve+ FWD 87 kWh ($50,190), Empower+ FWD 87 kWh ($53,690), Premiere FWD 87 kWh ($54,690), Engage e-4ORCE 63 kWh ($47,190), Engage+ e-4ORCE 87 kWh ($51,190), Evolve+ e-4ORCE 87 kWh ($54,190), and tops out with the Platinum+ e-4ORCE 87 kWh ($60,190).
