This is what a wilder, two-door version of the Chevrolet Blazer could have looked like if GM designer Brian Malczewski had his way. This particular sketch was recently shared to the General Motors Design page on Instagram. Malczewski, a lead exterior designer for GM, says it was dreamed up in 2015 as a proposal for the Blazer but evidently, it never saw the light of day.
Compared to the current Blazer, this one has a far boxier shape with more muscular lines resulting in a more modern look than the current model. The front end is especially striking and includes split LED headlights, a covered black grille, silver accents on the bumper, and LED daytime running lights on the outer edges of the bumper.
The squared-off shape of the SUV is particularly evident when viewed from the sides thanks to the black wheel arches, sharp lines and creases along the doors, high rocker panels, and the angular side windows. The thick B-pillar is also quite dramatic.
GM Design
A second sketch has also been shared to Instagram by GM Design. It comes from Maxwell Sullivan, a creative exterior designer at GM and it envisions what could have been a new Buick. We think it is absolutely gorgeous and are particularly fond of the front grille treatment that is recessed into the fascia, has red body-colored accents, black finishes, and a prominent Buick logo in the center.
Found on either side of the grille are LED daytime running lights positioned diagonally and drawing your gaze up to the main headlights themselves.
