Customers with unfilled Lincoln Navigator orders are being offered a $5,000 incentive to stay with the automaker and wait a little longer to take delivery.

The car manufacturer is offering a $5,000 discount to shoppers with an unscheduled 2022 Navigator if they are willing to switch to purchasing or leasing a 2023 Navigator. Cars Direct reports that the discount is available for Navigator and Navigator Black Label models that are sold between January 12 and April 3.

Confirmation of the discount came after Lincoln issued a bulletin to dealerships earlier this month. The discount indicates that the car manufacturer has not been able to fill every order of the 2022 model and wants to move some to 2023 orders.

Very few changes have been made to the Lincoln Navigator for the 2023 model year, other than the fact that the MSRP for an entry-level model has increased by more than $2,000.

The launch of this discount comes a few months after Ford began offering a similar discount to reservation holders of the F-150 Lightning. In that case, the car manufacturer was offering a discount of as much as $8,500 for those who had an unscheduled 2022MY order that had to be converted into a 2023MY order. The discount was launched to offset the price increase of the 2023 model.

While no significant updates were made to the Navigator for 2023, it did receive a new ActiveGlide semi-autonomous driving system last year that allows for hands-free operation. This system uses cameras and radar sensors and allows the SUV to drive itself on more than 130,000 miles (209,215 km) of pre-mapped highways in North America. The system also incorporates a camera in the instrument cluster to monitor the eye movements and head position of the driver.
