The redesigned Mercedes-AMG GT coupe will debut later this year and be heavily influenced by the SL convertible

The 2024 Mercedes-AMG GT is dropping its disguise and revealing new details ahead of a debut later this year.
Essentially a coupe version of the Mercedes-AMG SL, the GT follows in the convertible’s footsteps but adopts lightly revised styling. The changes are immediately apparent as the model has a larger and more aggressive grille, which is flanked by unique headlights. They’re joined by a new bumper, which has vertical air curtains as well as a front splitter.
The styling changes continue further back as the coupe has unique front fender vents with metallic accents. Buyers will also find a revamped rear end with slender taillights.

Spy photographers didn’t get a look inside, but previous pictures have shown the model will adopt a 2+2 seating configuration. We can also expect to find a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an 11.9-inch infotainment system, and biometric authentication technology which uses a fingerprint reader to recognize drivers and load their preferred vehicle settings.
Engine options are expected to carryover from the convertible and the AMG GT 55 should have a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 pumping out 469 hp (350 kW / 476 PS) and 516 lb-ft (699 Nm) of torque. It will be paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission, which should enable the model to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in around 3.8 seconds.

The GT 63 will be similar, but should have an increased output of 577 hp (430 kW / 585 PS) and 590 lb-ft (799 Nm) of torque. This should drop the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) time to approximately 3.5 seconds. Additional variants will follow including a handful of high-performance plug-in hybrids.
