Porsche just dropped in with two new ebikes, the Cross Performance and the Cross Performance EXC. Porsche asks for an average of $14,800 between the two new models. Here’s a breakdown of what each comes with, how they fit into the Porsche eBike lineup, and where you can get one.

Porsche partnered with Rotwild, the manufacturer of high-end electric mountain bicycles to create the Cross Performance and Cross Performance EXC. In the end, the design it’s come up with is said to take inspiration from the fly line of the 911 and the Taycan. Each one of the new bikes utilizes a Shimano EP-801 electric motor and a 630 Wh battery pack.

Both leverage the same carbon frame along with 100 mm spring deflection, a Fox 34 Float Factory fork with 120 mm of travel, and a Flat DPS air damper. A Shimano XT Di2 12-speed derailleur sits at the back of each bike and Magura MT7 disc brakes with four pistons at the front and rear ensure ample braking.

Crankbrothers provides the Synthesis enduro carbon wheels and the Highline 3 Telescopic seat post found on each bike. With all of these similarities, one might wonder what the difference between each bike is. Namely, customizability. The Cross Performance comes in a single color, Silver. The EXC version is built to order in any one of six Porsche Original vehicle colors.

The normal Cross Performance has a recommended retail price of $14,250 while the EXC costs $15,350. That makes these two the flagships of the Porsche eBike lineup which also includes the eBike Sport and the eBike Cross. Moving forward all Porsche eBikes will benefit from the use of the Shimano EP-801 motor.
