Porsche introduced a modernized crest earlier today and said it would start appearing on vehicles later this year.

We’ve already talked about the crest, but Autocar is reporting it will debut on the new Panamera. Spy photographers have snapped the model on numerous occasions and it features evolutionary bumpers, new lighting units, and a handful of other updates.

While the exterior is evolutionary, previous spy photos have shown a Cayenne-like cabin with a digital instrument cluster and a new infotainment system that likely measures 12.3 inches. Elsewhere, there’s a minimalist center console, a relocated gear selector, and what could be an optional 10.9-inch passenger display.

Little is known about the engine lineup at this point, but the publication says we can expect updated 2.9- and 4.0-liter units with mild-hybrid technology. The plug-in hybrid variants are also tipped to receive updated engines and motors as well as beefier batteries and faster charging capabilities.

As for the aforementioned crest, it was three years in the making and is instantly recognizable. That being said, there are a number of differences including a more subtle gold color and a new three-dimensional honeycomb structure for the red bars. Elsewhere, the antlers now reside on a flat background and have a three-dimensional appearance.

The Porsche lettering has also been revamped and now resides on a flat background as well. In the center, the horse is more detailed and the Stuttgart lettering is now in black.
