Launching a car with a lot of horsepower can be surprisingly hard to do well. This is a lesson best learned in private, away from others, not on a public street, in front of countless people recording with their phones.

That’s the lesson one Lamborghini Huracán EVO driver learned the hard way. Several videos have emerged online showing a driver in Poland accelerating aggressively onto Emilia Plater, a boulevard in the nation’s capital, Warsaw.

Almost as soon as the Huracán EVO gets going, trouble starts to mount for the driver. Attempting to accelerate as they turn right onto the street, the back end steps out, and the driver attempts to save the slide. Unfortunately, they overcorrect, launching themselves to the right, and into the island in the middle of the boulevard.

That’s when things go from bad to worse, as the green Huracán slams hard into the curb, bouncing up into the air. While none of that can have been comfortable for the driver, it was worse for the Lamborghini.

A video of the aftermath shows substantial damage to the right side of the car’s front bumper, as well as a left rear wheel that appears to be hanging on by a thread. In addition, the car is surrounded by sand (or some form of drying agent) suggesting that fluids have come gushing out of it in a manner that hints at deeper damage.

The Miejski Reporter Facebook page, which posted a number of videos of the incident, reports that the car had to be towed away from the scene. That’s hardly stunning, but it may surprise you to learn that they also claim that alcohol played no part in this accident and the driver was fined just 200 Polish Zloty, the equivalent of just $48 USD at current exchange rates.

While that’s a pretty light penalty, the pain and suffering of publicly ruining a perfectly good Lamborghini Huracán is likely a punishment in its own right. Although one source on Reddit claims that the car was rental, its ownership history remains unclear.
