Haval’s best-selling model is up for a mid-lifecycle update this year, hoping to gain back the lost positions in the sales chart

Haval, a Chinese brand owned by Great Wall Motors, published the first images of the facelifted H6 ahead of its market launch in China which is expected within the third quarter of the year.
A trio of revealing shots was published on Haval’s official Weibo account, with the description mentioning the 4 million accumulative global sales of the H6. Great Wall Motors hopes that the update will help the Haval H6 better compete with newer rivals, after being overtaken by the BYD Song in China’s sales charts. The Haval H6 is the brand’s best-selling model so the forthcoming update is quite important.
The biggest change on the exterior is the redesigned front bumper which trades the large grille of its predecessor for a more aerodynamic nose. The bumper intakes are significantly wider, with large covered sections looking like a hippo’s mouth. The headlights retain the same route shape albeit with updated LED graphics.

The profile looks similar to the pre-facelifted model, but a closer look reveals the slightly different sculpted lines on the lower portion of the doors. The taillights also appear to be redesigned, taking inspiration from the Hyundai Santa Fe, while on the roof we can see a double panoramic sunroof. Chances are that the company will also update the cabin’s technology, although we have yet to see photos of the interior.
Haval didn’t mention anything about mechanical upgrades, but documents from the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology suggest it will come fitted with turbocharged 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter petrol engines, alongside a plug-in hybrid option. The facelifted version reportedly measures 4,711 mm (185.5 inches) long making it 58 mm (2.3 inches) longer compared to its predecessor.

The third generation of the Haval H6 debuted in 2020, with the PHEV model following in 2021. In the same year, Haval also launched a coupe-SUV variant which is called H6S or H6 GT depending on the market.
