As far as high-performance SUVs go, the Ferrari Purosangue might just be the king of them all (even though Ferrari doesn’t call it an SUV). It looks good, offers breathtaking levels of performance, and is relatively practical. However, is it desirable enough to warrant spending up to $20,795 for a 1:8 scale model of one?

Amalgam, a company known for manufacturing some of the finest scale models on the planet has just unveiled its Purosangue and while it may cost as much as an affordable hatchback, it’s hard not to be impressed with the detail that has gone into its creation.

The company plans to build just 199 models of the Purosangue. It has been brought to life with the assistance of Ferrari and includes original CAD data, finishes, and paint codes. Amalgam says it has spent over 3,000 hours developing the model and that each one will take over 300 hours to build.

Would You Spend $20,000 On A Ferrari Purosangue Scale Model?

Each and every model is made from thousands of precisely engineered parts that include castings, photo-etchings, and CNC-machined metal components. The finished creation is over 62 cm (24 inches) long and each one is hand-built and assembled by a small team of craftsmen.

The standard scale model from Amalgam has been priced at $15,995 but those wanting something a little extra special can opt for the Bespoke model. It is priced at $20,795 and for the extra money, shoppers can choose the paint color, interior color, wheel style, and the color of the brake calipers.

As a refresher, the life-size Ferrari Purosangue is powered by a naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine pumping out 715 hp. This engine sends its power through all four wheels thanks to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and in the U.S., the SUV starts at a staggering $398,350 excluding the gas-guzzler tax.
