Mercedes-Benz USA is celebrating Monterey Car Week by introducing the limited edition SL 63 Manufaktur Big Sur.

Drawing inspiration from the “breathtaking sunsets of the Pacific Coast,” the Big Sur has an eye-catching Manufaktur Orange Flame Metallic exterior that contrasts with a black soft top as well as black 21-inch forged wheels. The model has also been outfitted with black brake calipers, the AMG Exterior Chrome Package, and additional AMG badging.

The special touches continue in the cabin as there’s hand-stitched Manufaktur Mystic Red and Black Nappa leather with orange contrast stitching. Buyers will also find active multicontour seats with diamond quilting and a massage function.

Elsewhere, there’s Orange Flame Metallic trim and Manufaktur badging on the center console. Even the floor mats are special as they have Mystic Red Nappa leather piping, orange contrast stitching, and embroidered AMG logos.

Speaking of equipment, the 2024 Mercedes-AMG SL 63 Manufaktur Big Sur is based on the Performance trim and comes with a Burmester premium audio system, an AMG Light Display, and the Driver Assistance Package. They’re joined by a front axle lift system, an AMG active ride control suspension, and the AMG Dynamic Plus Package. Other highlights include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch infotainment system.

Power comes from a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 developing 577 hp (430 kW / 585 PS) and 590 lb-ft (799 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to a nine-speed transmission and a fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system. This setup enables the convertible to rocket from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.5 seconds, before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 196 mph (315 km/h).

Mercedes didn’t mention pricing, but the Big Sur will be an American exclusive that is available in “limited numbers.”
