Jenson Button took delivery of his unique Lotus Evija during The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering last Friday and as with all examples of the Evija, it is completely bespoke and pays tribute to a very special racing car: the 2009 Brawn GP F1 car that he won the World Championship in.

In paying tribute to the Formula 1 car that achieved unprecedented success in during the dramatic 2009 season, Button had the Evija painted in Arctic White with Verve Yellow and Carbon Black accents. The deployable digital wing mirrors also have the number 22 on them, Button’s racing number during the 2009 season.

Parts finished in the striking shade of Verve Yellow include elements on the hood and running along the sides. The brake calipers are also painted in Verve Yellow and sit behind a set of gloss black alloy wheels with magnesium black highlights. The Evija also rocks anodized silver centerlocks.

Unique touches continue into the cabin of the rare hypercar. Immediately catching the eye are the seats trimmed in white and black leather as well as an Ebony Alcantara headliner and steering wheel. Continuing the theme of the exterior is Lime Yellow contrast stitching while Lime Yellow is also found on the pedals, center console display, start/stop button, the steering wheel-mounted mode switch, and the air vent surrounds.

Button’s car also has an aluminum strip running vertically through the seat center that has been laser-etched with the date and location of each of his 15 Formula 1 race victories.

“The car looks sensational and in a color scheme which means so much to me,” Button said at Monterey. “The Lotus team has done an amazing job to deliver the design proposal we dreamed up together – they’ve created a real head-turner.”

As a reminder, the Lotus Evija is powered by four electric motors pumping out 2,011 hp, making it the most powerful road car ever conceived. Unlike Pininfarina and Rimac, however, Lotus has not yet released verified acceleration figures for the car.
