Manhart took on the Ford Bronco with the limited production BC 400 build benefiting from a series of performance and visual upgrades. The tuner’s goal was to bring the EU-spec Bronco on par with the Bronco Raptor in terms of power while enhancing its stance with wide fenders and oversized wheels.

The mighty Ford Bronco Raptor with the twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 is not available in the Old Continent, which is why Manhart felt the need to upgrade the standard model. Engine modifications include a Whipple/Ford Racing intercooler, aFe cold air intakes, a pair of stainless-steel downpipes, and the MHtronic ECU module with tweaked software.

As a result, the modified 2.7-liter EcoBoost produces a healthy 415 hp (310 kW / 421 PS) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque, representing an increase of 85 hp (64 kW / 86 PS) and 117 Nm (87 lb-ft) compared to the stock unit. This means that the Manhart BC 400 is only 3 hp (2 kW / 3 PS) shy of the US-spec Ford Bronco Raptor, with an extra 84 Nm (62 lb-ft) of torque on tap.

While Manhart’s Bronco doesn’t get the dune-conquering suspension setup of the Raptor, the aforementioned upgrades on the intercooler and air intakes mean it is better suited to high temperatures, something that Middle Eastern customers will be happy to hear. The 35-inch Renegade R7 off-road tires wrapped around Manhart’s black-painted 22-inch wheels further improve the SUV’s credentials. Finally, in order to better cope with the extra performance, Manhart upgraded the allegedly “undersized” stock brakes with Brembo’s larger 380 mm (15-inch) discs and 6-piston calipers on the front axle.

In the styling department the Manhart BC 400 is differentiated from the regular Broncos thanks to the wheels, the gloss black decals on the sun yellow shade, the body-colored wide fenders sourced from the Bandlands trim, and the tinted windows. Inside, we find new leather and Alcantara upholstery in a combination of black and yellow shades.

The Wuppertal-based tuner didn’t reveal the price of the Bronco BC 400 but the extent of the upgrades and the limited availability of 10 units suggest it won’t come cheap. A visit to Manhart’s online shop reveals that only the wheels and tires of the pictured example will cost you €9,350 ($10,163).
