The Ford Ranger is initially launching in China with a limited-run 1st Edition

The new Ford Ranger has just entered the Chinese market and will be available for less than 160,000 yuan or $21,950.
Ford Ranger models sold in China will not be imported from overseas and instead, will be manufactured locally by Ford’s truck joint venture partner Jiangling Motors Group Go. A range of Ford Raptor models were recently showcased at the Chengdu Auto Show.
The first version offered is dubbed the Ranger 1st Edition and is to be capped at just 800 units in China. It’s priced from 269,800 yuan ($37,174). The company has not confirmed what unique elements distinguish the Ranger 1st Edition from other variants but has said that pre-orders are already being accepted.

Local buyers interested in picking up the keys to a locally-built Ranger will be offered a 2.3-liter EcoBoost petrol engine or should they prefer, a turbocharged 2.3-liter diesel engine.

The Ford Ranger isn’t the only exciting new model to touch down in China. The car manufacturer also presented a special version of the Explorer at the Chengdu Auto Show, known as the Red Gold Edition. Priced from 399,800 yuan ($55,086), the Explored Red Gold Edition comes complete with a gray exterior contrasted by a gold front grille and a gray interior. Ford also brought along the new Bronco to the event ahead of its local arrival next year. A new version of the F-150 Raptor was also showcased, known as the Firestorm Special Edition.
In separate news, the first allocation of 300 Ford Mustang Mach-Es arrived in Taiwan in mid-August where it will be sold in Select, Premium, and high-performance GT guises. Prices for the Select start at 2,080,000 New Taiwan dollars or $65,288 while the Premium sells for 2.48 million ($77,844) and the GT is 2.68 million ($84,121).
