Small Chinese car manufacturer Avatr, formed through an alliance between Changan, Huawei, and CATL, has unveiled the all-electric 12 at the Munich Motor Show. While we got our first look at the sedan back in July, it is only now that the company has released complete specifications for it while also showcasing the interior for the very first time.

Avatr will sell the 12 with two powertrain options. The entry-level model is equipped with a 94.5 kWh ternary lithium-ion battery pack from CATL which drives an electric motor at the rear producing 308 hp. A performance-focused version with two electric motors making for a combined 578 hp and driven by the same 94.5 kWh battery is also offered. Prior to the car’s unveiling, there had been speculation that it would be offered with the same 90.4 kWh and 116.8 kWh battery packs as the Avatr 11 SUV.

The new EV is 5,020 mm (197.6 inches) long, 1,999 mm (78.7 inches) wide, and 1,460 mm (57.4 inches) tall. It also has a 3,020 mm (118.9-inch) wheelbase and is slightly larger than the Nio ET7.

The car’s exterior design is quite a sight to behold. The front end sports a small black grille and a set of split, LED daytime running lights that create a C-shape. Avatr then placed the main headlamps next to these DRLs. Unique elements of the car’s design continue across the side where you may first notice the intriguing profile that looks a bit like a middle ground between a traditional sedan and a Shooting Brake. Pop-out door handles come standard as does a pop-out rear spoiler.

Things get even more interesting in the cabin. The Avatr 12 has a wraparound dashboard bathed in leather as well as a compact steering wheel with a flat top and flat bottom. This dashboard also supports a 35.4-inch panoramic widescreen display encompassing the instrument cluster and a passenger display. A pair of screens are also used for the digital mirrors while a central, landscape-oriented infotainment screen is used to control most vehicle functions.

Elsewhere, the Avatr 12 comes equipped with an electrochromic panoramic glass roof, Nappa leather, and an intricate ambient lighting system. The sedan also has a thumping 27-speaker sound system, 3 nature-inspired fragrances, and a digital rear view mirror.

Avatr says the 12 is equipped with the Huawei Advanced Driving System 2.0 assistance suite that has 29 advanced sensors including 3 LiDARs. Pricing and availability details have not yet been announced.
