Surprisingly, Gary Busey owns a Volvo C30, quite an understated choice for a movie star. However, what’s far less glamorous is the recent incident where the 79 year old actor reportedly collided with another motorist on California’s Pacific Coast Highway and then allegedly attempted to flee the scene.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, August 30, as Busey pulled out of a shopping center and onto the highway. The woman he ran into claims that the celebrity rear-ended her, then tried to simply drive away.

Following the accident, the woman started filming and, in a video shared with TMZ, she can be seen pulling next to Busey and yelling at him to stop as they drive down the highway. Eventually, the two stop at a restaurant, where the confrontation continues.

The woman, who has not been named, continues to ask Busey for his insurance details, while shooting footage of the front of his Volvo, which does appear to be dented. She also shared photos of the damage to the rear of her vehicle with TMZ.

As she pleads with Busey to provide her with insurance information, he simply tells her that he’s “private,” before revealing that he’s insured with Progressive. Unfortunately, the actor can be seen driving away from the woman, who claims that he did not provide her with the necessary information following the scrape.

Local law enforcement has confirmed that the woman in this story did file a hit-and-run report with detectives. They say that they are investigating the incident, which may be bad news for Busey, because leaving the scene of an accident that results in property damage can lead to serious consequences.

Busey’s driving history isn’t exactly spotless, either. In 2015, he faced accusations of backing into a woman in a Malibu shopping center, as reported by the LA Times. However, no charges were filed in connection with that incident.
