The Mini Clubman is not long for this world, as the automaker says that it just doesn’t need another five-door model in its lineup. That means that the 2024 Mini Clubman Final Edition will be a swan song for the nameplate, as well as the second-generation of the model.

Mini lovers will have to say goodbye to the barn-door model, which was reintroduced to the automaker’s modern lineup in 2007. A three-and-a-half door model to begin with, for its second generation, the model evolved into a larger five-door model, a move that may have ultimately sealed its fate.

“I wouldn’t say the space is filled but we will not have a Clubman,” Stefanie Wurst, Mini’s chief, told Top Gear. “The Aceman is a smaller concept but I think the five-door space (if not the six-door) is filled well by the Countryman and the Aceman. If you look at the sales numbers worldwide the Countryman doubles the Clubman.”

 Mini Clubman To Get The Axe As There’s No Room Left In The Brand’s Lineup

The decision comes as Mini works to revitalize its whole lineup for an all-electric future. Although the lineup won’t be fully battery powered until 2030, it has already introduced a new Mini and Mini Countryman, and will unveil the Mini Aceman shortly.

Previewed as the Aceman EV Concept in 2022, the model was shorter than the Countryman, but taller than it, suggesting that it aims to compete in the popular compact crossover segment. With a focus on design, it should offer a stylish, premium experience for buyers. Together, the Aceman and the Countryman will leave no room for the Clubman.

“I love the Clubman, I’m driving a Clubman at the moment,” says Wurst. “But as a big car concept we decided to go with the new Countryman.

As a final goodbye to the Clubman, Mini is offering buyers a limited Final Edition package. It adds $10,000 to the price tag, as well as a selection of luxurious touches to the model. Just 1,969 will be made globally.
