A Swedish went on a rampage with a forklift-equipped loader after police and repossessers showed up on his property. The man, in his ’50s, must pay 1 million Swedish Krona ($90,000 USD at current exchange rates) for his actions, which were caught on video.

The event occurred in the spring of 2021, in the northern part of the province of Uppland, on the east coast of Sweden. The incident kicked off when the Kronofogden, the Swedish government agency in charge of debt collection, showed up to the man’s property. In addition to the Kronofogden, police were also involved in the action.

It is unclear what specifically the agencies were there to collect, but the man became enraged and got into the loader and started running into the authorities’ vehicles. In a video of the event shared on Swedish channel SVT, the man can be seen attacking everything from cars to transport trucks.

In one scene, the loader lifts a Volvo wagon’s rear wheels off the ground, and several feet into the air, before letting it drop back down again, slamming onto the ground. He then turns his sights on a truck.

Racing towards the car-carrier, he gets in front of it with his loader, and started pushing against it with the forklift attachment. Although the truck tries to back away, it appears that a tire explodes, sending a puff of dirt out, causing the person with the camera to yelp in shock. The loader then backs up, and then rams into the truck again, and peels some of the bodywork off the front of it.

In addition to being surprising, the video was also useful for authorities, who used it as evidence against the man, who was charged with two counts: aggravated damage and sabotage against a police operation.

The man denied responsibility for the latter charge, pleading guilty only to aggravated damage. That proved not to be very persuasive, reports SVT Nyheter. The man has been sentenced to pay damages to the insurance company and the recovery services, among other penalties. He is also now under probation.
