Manhart is no stranger to the BMW X5 M and X6 M, having upgraded various examples with bodykits, massive wheels, and healthy power boosts. However, this particular MHX6 700 is quite unique in terms of exterior spec, as all of the forged carbon fiber bits have been infused with luminous gold flakes.
The Manhart MHX6 700 Gold Edition 01/01 is based on the pre-facelifted BMW X6 M (F96). According to the Wuppertal-based tuner, the owner wanted something “very special and extravagant to express maximum individuality” and to attract as much attention as possible. This was achieved by a peculiar color combination – a violent bodywork with gold decals – and the unique pattern on the bodykit.
From a distance, the gold-infused texture looks a bit like gift wrapping. Get closer though and you’ll notice it is a lot more expensive than a simple wrap, as the entire bodykit is made of Manhart‘s forged carbon with the addition of real gold. This applies to the grill surround, splitter, bonnet vents, fender extensions, aerodynamic skirts, rear diffuser, and double rear spoiler.

The eye-catching tuxedo must be combined with a fitting set of wheels, which in this case measure 23 inches adorning Manhart’s classic Y-spoke design. The rims are finished in matte black with a contrasting gold ring. Despite the in-your-face exterior spec, the owner of this MHX6 didn’t want to mess with the interior, retaining the stock configuration which already came with plenty of carbon fiber accents.
As with earlier MHX6 700 models, the Gold Edition benefits from an MHtronic auxiliary control unit taking BMW M‘s biturbo 4.4-liter V8 to 720 hp (537 kW / 730 PS) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque. The sound experience is enhanced by Manhart’s stainless steel exhaust system with active flaps on the quad tailpipes. Last but not least, the suspension has been upgraded with height-adjustable KW coilovers, although the tuner alternatively offers fixed lowering springs by H&S bringing it closer to the ground by 30 mm (1.2 inches).
Manhart didn’t announce the cost of the upgrades in the MHX6 700 Gold Edition but remains open to accepting orders for similar builds. What kind of forged carbon are we going to see next?
