Lynk & Co introduced the updated version of the 06 with the EM-P moniker, bringing a comprehensively redesigned exterior, an overhauled interior, and a more powerful plug-in hybrid powertrain.

The electrified SUV adopts the automaker’s more recent styling language which was introduced earlier this year with the larger Lynk & Co 08. As such, it features new split headlights, tweaked bumpers, and slimmer LED taillights. The profile is largely carried over as with the distinct greenhouse.

Moving inside, there is a much larger free-standing infotainment touchscreen paired with a digital instrument cluster. The center console is now free of any physical controls and the climate vents are slimmer for a cleaner design. There is also a dual wireless charging pad in place of the bulky shifter of the older version alongside a larger storage compartment. Another cool feature is the sunshades featuring what appears to be tinted glass.

The Lynk & Co 06 EM-P has a very similar footprint to its predecessor, retaining its position in the subcompact SUV segment with a length of 4,350 mm (171.3 inches). The wheelbase of 2,640 mm (103.9 inches) is shared with the mechanically related Geely Icon, Binyue, and Emgrand, as they all ride on the same B-segment Modular Architecture (BMA) underpinnings.

The small SUV comes fitted with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, comprising a naturally-aspirated 1.5-liter petrol engine and dual electric motors. The combined output is 295 hp (220 kW / 299 PS) and 568 Nm (419 lb-ft) of torque, which is more than any ICE or hybrid version of the outgoing Lynk & Co 06. The battery pack has a capacity of 19.1 kWh, allowing an EV-only range of 102 km (63 miles) measured under the CLTC protocols.

As reported by Car News China, the Lynk & Co 06 will be available in China before the end of 2023, with a rumored starting price of around ¥180,000 ($24,670).
