Soon after Abarth announced the impending arrival of the 500e in Australia, the firm has introduced a final version of the combustion-powered 695 set to land in dealerships in November.

The 2023 Abarth 695 to be sold in Australia is the same as the model that was unveiled in Europe some twelve months ago. It will be sold exclusively in 695 Competizione guise and start at AU$37,900 ($23,898). This makes it significantly cheaper than the electric Abarth 500e which will set back local shoppers an eye-watering AU$58,900 ($37,140).

Powering the 2023 Abarth 695 Competizione is the firm’s familiar 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that is good for 132 kW (177 hp). Shoppers can choose to have this engine coupled to a five-speed manual transmission or, should they prefer, an automatic ‘box. Regardless of which transmission is selected, both versions send power to the front wheels and come with Abarth’s Record Monza quad exhausts.

2023 Fiat 695 Competizione Sends Out Combustion Model Down Under

Key features of the 2023 Abarth 695 Competizione include Koni suspension at the front and rear, 17-inch alloy wheels, yellow Brembo brake calipers, privacy glass, a 7-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. The punchy hot hatch also includes a steering wheel wrapped in black Alcantara with carbon fiber accents and sports a new matte black dashboard.

New for 2023 is Racing Orange, a bright new color added to the Abarth palette. Shoppers can also elect to have the car painted in Gara White, Racing Red, Record Grey, or Scorpion Black. A Scorpion Black roof is also available for examples painted in Gara White, Racing Red, Racing Orange, and Record Grey.

While the Abarth 695 Competizione starts at AU$37,900, the optional automatic transmission adds AU$2,000 ($1,261), a Beats premium audio system and 17-inch Competizione wheels add $1,700 ($1,071), and each of the two-tone paint finishes adds AU$1,600 ($1,008) to the price tag.
