The new Toyota Tacoma is more overland-friendly than ever thanks to the new Trailhunter trim, but for those looking to go the aftermarket route, there’s a company that has released a pop-up camper for the 2024 Tacoma before the truck’s even gone on sale.

That company, GoFastCampers (GFC), got their start making Tacoma campers, so it only seems fitting that they’d be the first to make one for the first all-new Tacoma in nearly a decade. This new camper is designed to fit both the five- and six-foot versions of the Tacoma, with the two options weighing in at 266 and 278 lb (121 and 126 kg) respectively.

GFC is able to keep weight down due to the camper’s efficient construction, which incorporates a honeycomb roof and aluminum space frame to create a lightweight design that doesn’t compromise on strength. And on the topic of that weight, the roof of the camper is able to support as much as 500 lb (227 kg) of dynamic loading with the optional roof bars.

The camper only adds 6.8 inches (17.3 cm) to the Toyota‘s height when closed, but with the pop-up tent fully opened, occupants are treated to up to 8 feet of headroom. The sleeping area measures 50 by 90 inches (1.27 by 2.29 meters), and it comes complete with a 3-inch-thick (7.6 cm) dual-density memory foam mattress.

Underneath the camper, the truck’s bed remains fully usable, and the T-track mounting surfaces allow any peripherals to be mounted with ease. Fold-out side panels also ensure that all your gear is secure when you want it to be, while still allowing the option of an open-air experience when parked.

Pricing starts at $7,700, and if you really want, you can order one now for any Tacoma trim. At the moment, the lead time for pre-orders is about 10-12 weeks before GFC confirms your custom build and makes it to order, but that might not be a problem if your 2024 Tacoma has yet to be delivered in the first place. Regardless, the company stated that the earliest delivery for any of these campers will happen no sooner than January 4th, 2024.
