Ford and the UAW reached a tentative agreement last month and now we’re starting to learn about future products as well as plant investments.

According to the UAW, Ford will make $8.1 (£6.6 / €7.6) billion in product commitments and other investments as part of the deal. A whopping $2.1 (£1.7 / €2) billion is earmarked for Ohio Assembly, which will build an all-new electric van as well as continue to produce Super Duty and Medium Duty trucks as well as stripped down versions of the E-Series van.

Louisville Assembly will get $1.2 (£1 / €1.1) billion as well as an all-new EV. The plant will also continue building the Ford Escape and Lincoln Corsair through their “planned product lifecycle.” That sounds ominous and previous reports have suggested the Corsair will be killed in 2025. The Escape’s future is also looking grim and it could be axed to allow the company to focus on the Bronco Sport.

Dearborn Truck and the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center are slated to receive an all-new electric pickup, while Flat Rock Assembly could receive a new product. The latter facility builds the Mustang, so the automaker certainly has our attention, but the union noted production of the mystery model is “pending program approval.”

Other highlights include confirmation of hybrid versions of the Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator. They’ll be built at the Kentucky Truck Plant and we should learn more about them in the coming months.

Furthermore, it looks like the Lincoln Aviator is preparing to say goodbye. While a facelift is in the works, the luxury crossover has the “planned lifecycle” kiss of death. This probably shouldn’t be too surprising as reports have suggested it will be dropped by early 2026. The Edge also looks to be living on borrowed time, but that isn’t a shock either.

That’s just a brief glimpse at the fun stuff, but it’s important to note the agreement is only tentative and sometimes even when things are finalized, not everything pans out.
