Flat Out Autos has unveiled a modern-day Chevrolet K5 Blazer at the SEMA Show that looks so good you could be excused for thinking it was an official Chevy project.

The company out of Arkansas first made headlines in early 2021 when it took a modern Chevrolet Tahoe and transformed the exterior to look like a classic K5 Blazer. For this year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Flat Out Autos started out with a full-size Silverado and spent months turning it into a much smaller truck with a removable roof.

One of the first things that Flat Out Autos had to do was significantly shorten the wheelbase of the Silverado, allowing it to transform it into a compact two-door with the same brash styling as the standard model but on a much smaller scale. The modern K5 Blazer also sits on a set of 37-inch Nitto Trail Grappler tires, sports Fox coilovers, and has long-travel suspension from Dirt King.

Obviously, the reduced size of the truck means the cabin is smaller than a standard Silverado. However, the builder hasn’t simply removed the rear seats and made the truck into a two-seater. Instead, the rear seats have been repositioned into the bed and a carbon fiber roof has been developed to sit over them. Of course, this roof can be easily removed should passengers want to get the wind in their air along an off-road trail.

The Silverado donor car was originally painted white but it has since been resprayed in Glacier Blue Metallic and has the same front fascia as the Silverado ZR2. A custom swing-out rear tire carrier has also been fitted and can easily accommodate a full-size spare. Flat Out Autos didn’t forget about the truck’s 5.3-liter V8 either and have topped it with a Whipple supercharger and installed a Vance and Hines exhaust.

Flat Out Autos is competing in SEMA’s Battle of the Builders competition with this special pickup and sells these conversions to customers.
