The intriguing Hyper HT from GAC Aion has just been priced in China and as with the case for many new EVs from the country, it is much more affordable than you may expect.

Six different trim levels of the GAC Aion Hyper HT will be sold. Sitting at the base of the range are the RWD Technology Version and RWD Battery Swap Version models, both priced from 213,900 yuan or the equivalent of $29,520. The RWD Technology Version has a 72.7 kWh battery pack driving an electric motor at the rear wheels with 241 hp and 262 lb-ft (355 Nm) of torque. It can hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.8 seconds and travel 600 km (373 miles) on a charge according to the Chinese test cycle.

As the name implies, the RWD Battery Swap Version supports battery swapping and has a slightly smaller 70 kWh pack but is rated at the same 241 hp and 262 lb-ft (355 Nm). It has a 550 km (342 mile) range.

Those seeking a little extra performance can opt for the RWD High-Voltage Version priced at 229,900 yuan ($31,725), the RWD High-Voltage NDA Version priced at 244,900 yuan ($33,795), and the RWD Gull-Wing Doors High-Voltage NDA Version for 285,900 yuan ($39,450). All three of these versions have an 80 kWh battery and a more powerful electric motor with 340 hp and 317 lb-ft (430 Nm) of torque, lowering the 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint to 5.8 seconds. They each have 670 km (416 miles) of range.

Topping out the range is the RWD Gull-Wing Doors High-Voltage Max Version. This model has been priced from 329,900 yuan ($45,520) and has a larger 93 kWh battery pack. It is good for 770 km (478 miles) to a charge.

All versions with the exception of the flagship model can be optioned with a Luxury package for 12,000 yuan ($1,655) that adds Nappa leather, a 10-point massage function for the driver’s and front passenger seats, and heated rear seats.
