The classic Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series has made a comeback in Japan after a 9-year hiatus, and Modelista is providing a selection of optional accessories for customization. The refreshed version of this classic off-roader has already garnered the appreciation of Land Cruiser enthusiasts, and the understated modifications make it even more desirable and adventure-ready.

Modelista has applied exterior modifications to the Land Cruiser 70 Series using components from the Japanese tuner Jaos, known for its expertise in off-road vehicles. These enhancements involve retrofitting the front bumper with vertical LED bars and adding extra protective panels. Buyers also have the option to include aluminum skid plates at both ends, and the fog lights are given a yellow tint for added character.

The vehicle is equipped with a new set of 18-inch aluminum wheels featuring a more intricate design and a bronze finish. These wheels are paired with Yokohama Geolandar all-terrain tires, perfectly aligning with the rugged character of the 70 Series that has been in continuous production since 1984.

On the more practical side, the Jaos roof rack and luggage tray enhance the Land Cruiser’s cargo-carrying capabilities. A rubber boot cover is included to help keep the interior clean during outdoor activities that may involve transporting dirty equipment. Modelista adds a touch of retro style to the Land Cruiser’s cabin with wood grain inserts. Additionally, the tuner offers its typical LED interior light upgrade, tinted windows, license plate bolts, and more.

In addition to the Jaos and Modelista parts, Land Cruiser 70 owners can also choose from the Toyota Genuine Accessory catalog. Some of the highlights on the pictured example include vintage red and yellow decals, a spare wheel cover featuring the Land Cruiser silhouette, and window visors.

Predictably, the most expensive modification is the new set of wheels which sell for ¥440,000 (about US$3,000 at current exchange rates). Other pricey components are the ¥220,000 ($1,500) roof rack, and the ¥181,500 ($1,300) for the bumper and skid plates. On the other hand, the decals cost ¥63,800 ($440), and the wood grain inserts ¥66,000 ($450). Bear in mind that the base model of the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser 70 in Japan is ¥4,800,000 which comes to around $32,500.
