If you own a Porsche 964 but always dreamed of the Carrera RS 2.7 Coupe from the ’70s, then this reverse restomod project sounds perfect for you. The dp64 Classic RS Jubilee is the work of German company dp Motorsports, merging the virtues of two different Porsche 911 generations while improving handling and performance.
The “Jubilee” model, which was converted between 2020 and 2022, is a one-off special for the 50th anniversary of dP Motorsports. However, all of the parts are widely available in the form of the dp64 Classic RS kit since 2013, meaning that similar 964-based builds are possible.

In the case of the dp64 Classic RS Jubilee, the donor car was a 1992 Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Coupe. The custom bodykit is designer to replicate the timeless looks of the Carrera RS 2.7 and is made of glass fiber reinforced plastic, Kevlar, and carbon. It includes deeper bumpers and side skirts, wider fenders that add 25 mm (1 inch) on each side, and the signature ducktail rear spoiler. For the anniversary special, dp Motorsports chose a light yellow shade with conda green graphics, matching the 17-inch Fuchs wheels.
The interior theme is inspired by ’70s racecars, which explains the chequered fabric on the seats and door cards. The racing buckets also feature Nappa leather on their bolsters, with a high-gloss black Clubsport rollbar behind them. There is plenty of Alcantara around the cabin, with a “black bouclé” carpet serving as a nod to the Porsche 356. The lack of an infotainment display pays respect to the classic looks but a pair of USB slots were added on the center console for charging. Finally, a high-quality audio system remains hidden from view, and can be controlled via Bluetooth.
More Power, Less Weight
Besides the visual charisma, the build benefits from performance and chassis modifications. The air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine has been upgraded to 3.8-liters, producing 310 hp (231 kW / 314 PS) and 361 Nm (266 lb-ft) of torque. The increase was achieved thanks to a Schrick camshaft set, an enlarged throttle valve system, a BMC sports air filter, and a double-flow exhaust by Cargraphic. Power is transmitted to the rear axle via a G50 5-speed manual gearbox with the help of a limited-slip differential.
The suspension by KW Clubsport improves handling in combination with the light alloy brake calipers which are sourced from the newer 993 generation. Overall, the curb weight has been reduced by 100 kg (220 lbs) to 1,250 kg (2,756 lbs). As a result, the modified 964 accelerates from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 5.3 seconds (-0.4″) and boasts an slightly increased top speed of 270 km/h (168 mph).
We don’t know the price of the Carrera RS 2.7 conversion kit for the 964, but such a build will likely come cheaper than most of the ultra-expensive 911-based restomods of our time.
