It’s hard to pinpoint which Black Series model from Mercedes-AMG is the finest of them all, but if we had to make a choice, the SLS AMG Black Series could very well be at the top of the list.

There’s a lot to like about the ultimate SLS. Prior to the introduction of the new Chevy Corvette Z06, it proudly boasted the title of the most potent naturally-aspirated V8 in any production car. This powerhouse churned out a remarkable 622 hp and 468 lb-ft (634 Nm) of torque from its meticulously crafted 6.2-liter eight-cylinder engine.

This sonorous powerplant is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission that sends power to the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential.

Then there are the looks. Sure, the SLS AMG Black Series doesn’t have a massive rear wing quite like that of the AMG GT Black Series, but its presence on the road is hard to beat thanks to the wide track and the unique bodykit. This SLS AMG Black is made all the more menacing due to the Obsidian Black Metallic paint as well as the black and silver 19- and 20-inch Y-spoke alloy wheels. It’s little wonder why it is on track to sell for more than a nice house.

The car has been listed for sale through Bring a Trailer and is a 2014 model that’s been driven just 2,600 miles (~4,180 km) since new. It was acquired by the selling dealer in 2023 and is being offered with an accident-free Carfax report and a clean Arizona title.

Given how little the Merc has been driven, it comes as no surprise that it is in exceptional condition. Not only does the exterior look as good as it did when it was new but the interior also looks excellent with the black leather and black Alcantara surfaces showing very few signs of use. This is despite the car having moved around much of the U.S. during its life, spending time in California, Montana, Missouri, Kansas, Florida, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Arizona.
