A handful of Aussies will soon be able to get their hands on a limited-run version of the Land Rover Defender not offered in any other market. The new model, dubbed the Defender Pacific Blue Edition, has been created to celebrate the country’s beautiful coastline and its surfing culture.

The special model is capped at just 15 examples, each based around the two-door Defender 90 with the available D250 powertrain, consisting of a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged Ingenium six-cylinder diesel with 183 kW (245 hp) at 4,000 rpm and 570 Nm (420 lb-ft) of torque between 1,250 rpm and 2,550 rpm. While the engine is familiar, a handful of unique elements do make the Defender Pacific Blue Edition stand out from less Defender models

For example, each of the 15 units has a matte Pacific Blue exterior finish that’s been contrasted with a white roof and black roof rails. The off-roader is also equipped with a sliding panoramic glass roof, privacy glass, 18-inch steel wheels, and all-terrain tires.

The special touches continue into the cabin of the latest member to the Defender family. Key touches include white contrasting elements on the steering wheel and door panels, Ebony 12-way grained leather heated semi-powered front seats, an upgraded Meridian Sound System, and a white accent across the dashboard. Land Rover will also equip each example with ‘1 of 15’ badges and customers can order the model with a handful of accessories, including a side-mounted gear carrier, fixed side steps, tow hitch receiver, and locking wheel nuts. Each Pacific Blue Edition is also shipped with a Defender-branded surfboard.
