A 1992 Porsche 968 finished in one of the brand’s most famous colors is up for sale and seems bound to sell to an astute collector or enthusiast who can fully appreciate its quirkiness and bright finish.

The paint finish in question is Rubystone Red, a bright shade of pink that’s been around for decades but remains quite rare. This particular 968 was originally sold in Japan and is thought to be one of as few as six sold in the country finished in this particular color. It was imported to the United States earlier this year and currently has 88,000 km (~$55,000 miles) on the clock.

While it’s hard to pull your eyes away from the paint, you will notice that the 968 retains the original silver-finished 17-inch wheels clad in 225/45 front and 255/40 rear Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires fitted in August this year. The Bring a Trailer listing notes that the doors and front bumper cover have been refinished and that the rock guard on the left front fender is missing. Other than these imperfections, the exterior looks to be in good shape.

The cabin sports power-adjustable front seats clad in black leather and cloth inserts with the Porsche script. Unlike U.S.-spec models that came standard with a powered sunroof, this Japanese-spec model is a slick top. It’s equipped with a Pioneer stereo, air conditioning, power windows, and power mirrors. By modern standards, the interior may look a bit outdated but most Porsche fans will most likely love its classic charm.

Power comes from a 3.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine that was good for 236 hp and 225 lb-ft (305 Nm) of torque when the car was new. This engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission that sends power to the rear wheels.
