The 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV has been hit with a stop-sale due to a software issue that needs fixing. Chevrolet has not disclosed the extent of the recall’s impact on the all-electric crossovers, only mentioning that it affects a “limited number” of vehicles. Deliveries of the Blazer EV began recently, and the stop-sale affects models either in transit or currently at dealerships.

The car manufacturer reports that software problems with the Blazer EV may lead to issues with the central infotainment screen. Additionally, software-related challenges could occur during attempts to charge the vehicle at public DC fast chargers.

“We’re aware that a limited number of customers have experienced software-related quality issues with their Blazer EV,” vice president of global Chevrolet Scott Bell told Auto News. “Customer satisfaction is our priority and as such, we will take a brief pause on new deliveries.”

The Blazer EV is an important vehicle for GM but it has been plagued with issues in recent weeks and some examples tested by journalists have had to be returned to dealerships already. Earlier this month, Edmunds revealed that the 2024 Blazer EV it purchased less than two weeks ago has encountered a litany of issues. Indeed, it was recently taken to a dealership where a scan uncovered 23 different issues that need fixing, including faults with the rear radar, radio, body control module, driver motor control module, and brake system control module.

Our own Michael Gauthier recently had the opportunity to test the Blazer EV and walked away impressed, thankfully avoiding the issues that have impacted many others to test the electric crossover. Should Chevy be able to iron out some of the vehicle’s kinks, it will have a very compelling EV on its hands.
