The replacement for the Bugatti Chiron is said to be powered by a heavily electrified powertrain

The team at Bugatti is working on a pretty difficult project, as it will have to replace one of the most singular and impressive vehicles of this millennium. And we’ll find out what it has planned later this year.
Since 2005 and the introduction of the Veyron, every single new Bugatti vehicle to leave Molsheim has featured the brand’s quad-turbo W16 monster of an engine.
However, now that the Chiron’s production run is up, and the W16 has been discontinued, Bugatti’s next vehicle will have to be completely new. Speaking to Motor1, company spokesperson Nicole Auger said the new Bugatti will be revealed in mid-2024.

Despite the difficulty and massive pressure of the task, Bugatti is doing nothing to temper expectations. The automaker’s now-retired designer Achim Anscheidt said last year that the new model will be even more impressive than the limited edition Mistral.
“It’s going to be amazing, proportionally, technologically, in terms of innovation, in terms of unexpectedness,” said Anscheidt. “It’s going to blow people out of the water completely, and it’s a true joy to work on this.”
Meanwhile, Bugatti’s new CEO Mate Rimac revealed that the model will feature a “heavily electrified” powertrain that is based around a “very attractive combustion engine.” He added that people will be “astonished” by the model when it breaks cover.
Rumors abound about the powertrain, with some speculating that the 8.0-liter W16 will be replaced by a naturally aspirated V16 from Cosworth. Others believe that Bugatti might borrow the V12 from Lamborghini’s new PHEV Revuelto, or that it might prefer the smaller VW Group V8.
Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until this summer before we find out for sure.
