Classic restomods are nothing new, but the newly unveiled SpeedKore Ghost deserves special attention thanks to its meticulous details. Under the hood is a 700+ horsepower (521 kW) Hellcat HEMI V8 mated to a six-speed manual transmission – and those are just the simple bits. Most of this stunning Dodge Charger dubbed “Ghost” resembles a custom-built modern-day supercar.

SpeedKore is famous for exactly these types of restomod builds. It’s done classic Ford Mustangs and even other classic Dodge Chargers but never before has it finished one in the ghostly white paint that gives this car its name. The body under that paint is all carbon fiber including the wheel tubs.

It’s all attached to a SpeedKore chassis made of 4×2 inch steel including a 14-point roll cage. The front suspension is a double A-arm setup from Detroit Speed and the rear rests on a custom SpeedKore-designed four-bar diagonal system.

Braking performance is provided by Brembo six-piston calipers gripping 14-inch rotors in the front and dual Brembo four-piston calipers in the rear to reign in this muscle car. The custom HRE wheels, measuring 19×9 inches in the front and 20×12 inches in the rear, are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires sized at 265/35ZR19 for the front and 345/30ZR20 for the rear, to ensure that it gets grip in all directions.

The engine is what SpeedKore says is a “reworked” Hellcat 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that sends its power to the rear wheels via a TREMEC TR-6060 six-speed manual, a carbon-fiber driveshaft and a 9-inch rear differential. It features a one-off cold-air intake, four-into-one headers, and a MagnaFlow muffler.

To put it simply, this is far from just a classic Dodge Charger with a modern drivetrain. It’s a fully-built modern muscle car with old-school cool looks.

“Ghost represents the evolution of its predecessors and builds on SpeedKore’s mission to fabricate the most advanced 1970 Dodge Charger in the world,” said Jim Kacmarcik, president and owner of SpeedKore, a Kacmarcik Enterprises Company. “Our goal is to meld timeless design, advanced composites, and reliable performance to redefine what the American muscle car should be.”

Considering all that the Ghost is, we’d say SpeedKore hit its mark again. On paper, this appears to be everything that we love about the 1970 Dodge Charger with all of the right bits of modern technology that make it faster and more ferocious.

Pricing has not been disclosed, but most of Speedkore’s builds go deep into the six-figure range.
