It’s the end of an era and a somber moment for Alfa Romeo enthusiasts, as the Italian marque will officially stop sales of its most exhilarating internal combustion vehicles in America this year. The current lineup of high-performance Quadrifoglio models is scheduled to conclude production this June.

That information comes directly from Larry Dominique, Alfa Romeo’s senior vice president for North America, who said on LinkedIn that buyers interested in acquiring a Giulia or Stelvio Quadrifoglio (in their current form) should place their orders in as soon as possible.

“Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio performance models bid farwell [sic] to North America, for now,” Dominique wrote in a posting. “This is the final chance to own a Quadrifoglio with only combustion engine technology as we continue our metamorphosis to an electrified future, but this is not the end of the story.”

“The opportunity to order a 2024 Giulia Quadrifoglio or Stelvio Quadrifoglio will close to North America at the end of April 2024,” he added. “The last internal only combustion powered Quadrifoglio models for U.S. and Canada will exit the Cassino plant in June 2024.”

Propelled by a Ferrari-derived 2.9-liter V6 engine, which Alfa Romeo’s engineers have described as being “inspired” by Ferrari’s 3.9-liter turbocharged V8, it produces 505 hp (377 kW / 512 PS) and 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque. The high-performance sedan and SUV are admired for their impressive pace and their engaging driving dynamics.

Although the final examples of the Stelvio and Giulia Quadrifoglio bound for the U.S. and Canada will roll off the Cassino factory line in June 2024, that doesn’t necessarily mean the end of the Quadrifoglio program. Domonique specified that these will simply be the final internal-combustion-only models to sport Alfa Romeo’s lucky four leaf clover.

As Domonique suggested in his post, the brand is working towards an electrified lineup, with plenty of plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles. Most relevantly, it is expected to introduce a successor to the Giulia with an all-electric powertrain in 2025. Rumors suggest that the Quadrifoglio trim could make as much as 986 hp (736 kW / 1,000 PS).
