An updated version of the Zeekr 001 has just launched in China and in addition to it receiving many new features and improvements, its starting price has also been cut by approximately 10%.
Local buyers will be able to pick up the keys to a new 001 for as little as 269,000 yuan (~$37,400) compared to the previous 300,000 yuan ($41,674) starting price. Two variants are offered from 269,000 yuan; a rear-wheel drive model with 416 hp and a 100 kWh NMC battery with up to 750 km (466 miles) of range, and a four-wheel drive model paired with a 95 kWh LFP battery and 675 km (419 miles) of range. The new 001 also includes the ME 4WD 100 kWh version priced from 299,000 yuan (~$41,600) and the YOU 4WD 100 kWh starting at 329,000 yuan (~$45,800).
A series of significant changes have been made to the 001 for 2024. For example, it is now underpinned by an 800-volt architecture and the LFP battery can charge from 10-80% in just 11.5 minutes and the larger NMC pack can be charged from 10-80% in 15 minutes. The new model also supports V2V charging of up to 60 kW.

Elsewhere, the Chinese carmaker has fitted all models with the same 416 hp rear electric motor as the high-performance 001 FR while all-wheel drive versions also include a 362 hp motor at the front axle. These motor changes mean the 4WD models can sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.3 seconds, 0.5 seconds quicker than before.
Several visual enhancements have also been made to give the standard 001 a similarly aggressive look to the 001 FR. Zeekr has also updated the interior with a new digital instrument cluster, an updated steering wheel, a 35.5-inch head-up display with augmented reality, and a 15.6-inch infotainment display. The car now also comes with a 28-speaker Yamaha audio system and a color-changing panoramic glass roof.
Other important features of the new model include a tweaked double-chamber air suspension system and an electrically powered tow hitch. While we don’t think many owners will use the 001 as a tow vehicle, they can pull up to 2 tons. The car also comes with Zeekr’s latest and greatest semi-autonomous driving functions, available free of charge to anyone who places an order before March 31.
