The Fiat TooGo is smaller than the outgoing Panda but comes packed with interesting features

The Fiat Panda is about to receive an all-new fully electric generation later this year but an independent design study proposes an alternative future for the Italian urban dweller. The Fiat TooGo concept was created by Marco Maltese as a three-door EV with a foldable scooter integrated into its two-piece tailgate and a rugged-looking derivative continuing the legacy of the Panda 4×4.
While the new Fiat Panda is expected to grow in size, the Fiat TooGo concept looks smaller than the existing Pandina. The design of the three-door body has references to the original Panda from 1980 but still features modern styling cues.

The proportions are characterized by the oversized disc wheels and the tiny overhangs. The lower portion of the body is covered in protective cladding, matching the black roof and tailgate for a rather extensive use of the bi-tone trend. The battery level indicator between the boxy LED headlights is reminiscent of Fiat‘s old emblem, while the charging port and the several cameras are nicely integrated within the side gills.
Another interesting feature is the tailgate which is divided into two portions providing easy access to the low floor of the cargo compartment. The lower portion of the tailgate houses an electric scooter that can serve as a last-mile mobility solution in dense-populated areas. When not in use, the scooter is hidden below a cover that could also serve as a bench.
The cabin of the Fiat TooGo is the definition of minimalism, focusing on practicality and sustainable materials. Just like in the original Fiat Panda, the dashboard doubles as a large shelf but here it is joined by a massive Tesla-like infotainment display in the middle. The dash is wrapped in Bamboo fiber, matching the upholstery on the door cards and seats.
Despite its small footprint, the concept has a four-seater cabin, featuring futuristic-looking seats and a floating center console. Other notable features include the weirdly shaped steering wheel with an integrated display, the panoramic sunroof, the door straps, and the Sonus Faber audio speakers on the doors.
Marco Maltese also created an off-road version of his design, envisioned as a successor to the Panda 4×4. This one has wide fender extensions, steel wheels shod in all-terrain tires, rugged bumpers, an integrated bull bar and extra LEDs at the front, and a stylish roof rack carrying a full-size spare wheel. The adventure-ready stance is combined with all-wheel-drive capability from a fully electric powertrain.
As is the case with independent design studies, the Fiat TooGo will remain a digital-only affair.
