U.S. deliveries of the Polestar 3 are slated to begin in the second quarter and the company is celebrating by slashing prices as well as announcing a new entry-level variant.

When the crossover was originally introduced in 2022, Polestar said the Long Range Dual Motor variant with Plus and Pilot packages would begin at $83,900. That figure would climb to $89,900 when the Performance Pack was thrown into the mix.

Fast forward to today and Polestar has announced a new entry-level model that starts at $73,400 and comes with just the Pilot Pack. The latter includes a head-up display as well as Pilot Assist, Park Assist Pilot, and Lane Change Assist.

Buyers looking for more equipment can get the Polestar 3 with the Plus and Pilot Packs. It costs $78,900 for a savings of $5,000. As for the Plus Pack, it adds upgraded upholstery, heated rear seats, and larger 21-inch wheels. Buyers will also find a 25-speaker Bowers & Wilkins premium audio system with a “fresh air subwoofer.”

Both variants have a 111 kWh battery that powers a dual-motor all-wheel drive system producing 489 hp (365 kW / 496 PS) and 620 lb-ft (840 Nm) of torque. It enables the crossover to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in five seconds and travel 315 miles (507 km) on a single charge. The latter figure is 15 miles (24 km) more than earlier estimates.

A Polestar 3 with the Pilot and Performance Packs will set you back $79,400. It includes sportier chassis tuning, Swedish gold accents, and larger 22-inch forged alloy wheels. However, the big news is a software upgrade that increases the output to 517 hp (386 kW / 524 PS) and 671 lb-ft (909 Nm) of torque. This cuts the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) time to 4.7 seconds, but the range falls to 279 miles (449 km).

Last but not least, there’s a Polestar 3 with the Pilot, Plus and Performance Packs. It starts at $84,900 which makes it $5,000 less than originally announced.
