The Polestar 4 is celebrating its North American auto show debut in New York and the company has announced the crossover will go on sale late next month. When it does, pricing will start at $54,900.

That’s nearly $20,000 less than the Polestar 3 and the model comes nicely equipped with a panoramic glass roof and 20-inch alloy wheels. Buyers will also find LED headlights, flush-mounted door handles, and a power liftgate. They’re joined by rain-sensing wipers, a digital rearview mirror, and an illuminated Polestar logo.

Moving inside, there’s a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.4-inch infotainment system running Android Automotive OS. The latter features Google built-in and this provides access to Google Assistant, Google Maps, and the Google Play store.

Putting screens aside, buyers will find heated power front seats with “bio-attributed” MicroTech upholstery. They’re joined by a wireless smartphone charger, a dual-zone climate control system, and digital key technology. The model also comes with a host of driver assistance systems including adaptive cruise control, a surround view monitor, a blind spot monitor, and collision warning systems.

The $1,500 Pilot Pack adds Lane Change Assist as well as Pilot Assist. The latter is a semi-autonomous driving system that keeps the crossover centered in its lane as well as a safe distance from the vehicle ahead.

The $2,000 Pro Pack is focused on style as it adds 21-inch wheels and Swedish gold valve stem caps. Swedish gold accents can also be found inside on the black seat belts.

The $5,500 Plus Pack is more substantial as it adds auto-dimming exterior mirrors and a kick sensor for the liftgate. Bigger changes occur inside as the package includes 12-way power front seats with fancier upholstery. Buyers will also find heated rear seats with a power recline function that enables the backrest to tilt from 28.5 to 34 degrees.

The upgrades don’t end there as the Plus Pack adds a 14.7-inch head-up display, a 5.7-inch rear passenger display, and a tri-zone climate control system. Other highlights include a heated steering wheel, illuminated trim, and a Harman Kardon premium audio system.

On the performance front, there’s a 102 kWh battery pack that provides an EPA-estimated range of 300 miles (483 km). It powers a rear-mounted motor developing 272 hp (203 kW / 276 PS) and 253 lb-ft (343 Nm) of torque. This enables the crossover to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 6.9 seconds.

Buyers looking for more performance and added traction can opt for a dual-motor variant, which begins at $62,900. It has 544 hp (406 kW / 552 PS) and 506 lb-ft (685 Nm) of torque, which cuts the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) time to 3.7 seconds. Unfortunately, the estimated range falls to 270 miles (435 km).

Equipment largely carries over from the single motor variant, but the Polestar 4 Dual Motor comes standard with the Pilot Pack. The model can also be equipped with a $4,500 Performance Pack, which adds 22-inch forged wheels that are wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires and backed up by a Brembo braking system with Swedish gold calipers. The model also has a sportier suspension as well as Swedish gold seat belts and valve stem caps.

While the Polestar 4 will go up for order next month, U.S. deliveries aren’t slated to begin until the fourth quarter.
