  • Ford offers a $1,000 cash bonus to those interested in trading their muscle car for a new Mustang.
  • Owners of Camaros, Challengers, and Chargers from 1995 MY or newer are eligible for the offer.
  • The Mustang Competitive Conquest Bonus Cash will be available nationwide until April 30.

The Mustang retains its title as the world’s best-selling sports car, despite experiencing a 6.8% decline in its most valuable market, the U.S., during the first quarter of this year compared to 2023. In an effort to revitalize sales, the Blue Oval is offering a $1,000 cash bonus to owners or lessees of rival muscle cars in the States who are contemplating trading in for a brand-new 2024 Ford Mustang.

In the U.S., buyers are snapping up the last batch of the discontinued Chevrolet Camaro, while the Dodge Challenger and Charger are preparing for the debut of the all-new Charger Daytona, scheduled to arrive in EV form later this year.

Amidst these shifts, the Ford Mustang, which entered its seventh-generation for the 2024 model year, finds itself without direct competitors. However, capitalizing on this advantage, the company is introducing extra incentives to further entice potential buyers who already own a muscle car.

The “Mustang Competitive Conquest Bonus Cash” offers a $1,000 cash bonus to individuals who currently own or lease a 1995 or newer model year Chevrolet Camaro, Dodge Challenger, or Dodge Charger. To qualify, they must trade in their existing vehicle or terminate their lease. Additionally, those who terminated a lease on a muscle car within 30 days prior to receiving their new Mustang are also eligible for the cash bonus.

According to Cars Direct, Ford distributed a bulletin to dealers outlining details of the Competitive Conquest Bonus. Unsurprisingly, the Dark Horse performance flagship is not included in the offer, meaning that it likely applies only to the 2.3-liter Ecoboost and 5.0-liter V8 GT versions of the Mustang. Nevertheless, the bonus is applicable to both the Fastback and Convertible body styles.

The nationwide offer is valid until April 30th, with dealerships currently promoting it as a $1,000 discount on their Mustang inventory. It’s worth noting that the 2024 Ford Mustang starts at $30,920 for the EcoBoost Fastback and $41,960 for the V8-powered GT before applying the aforementioned discount.

World’s best selling sports car

Ford recently announced the global sales figures for the Mustang that retains its position as the best-selling sportscar in the world. More than 59,000 units were delivered to customers in 2023, and that’s before most markets gain access to the new generation of the pony car. The US market accounted for the vast majority of sales with 48,605 units surpassing the rival Dodge Challenger and Chevrolet Camaro.

Ford is gearing up to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Mustang on April 17th, marking the occasion with the debut of a special a celebratory appearance package.
