Dodge is anticipated to unveil the next-generation Durango in 2026, offering it as both a battery-electric vehicle and an internal combustion engine variant. While details about the new model’s appearance are scarce, rendering artist Theottle has attempted to envision it, drawing design inspiration from the new Charger Daytona.
Surprisingly, the BMW XM serves as the basis for the designer’s illustration of the next-generation Durango. While the rationale behind choosing the XM over the outgoing Durango is not explained, it’s possible that its shape and size resonated with the artist’s vision as a foundation.

As most of the vehicle’s design details have been lifted from the new-age Dodge Charger, the SUV looks just as eye-catching as the new muscle car. The front end includes a pair of sharp headlights and an LED light bar. It also retains the Charger’s air duct running through the grille and over the shapely hood. A black splitter also catches the eye.
Spin around to the rear and the Charger influence continues with the same LED taillights, black bumper, and subtle roof spoiler. While the SUV looks solid, we think the D-pillars are a little too thick and the rear quarter panels look out of place.

While the new Durango will likely borrow some elements from the Charger, we think it’ll look more different than these renderings depict. Last year, we rendered the next-generation Durango in-house and opted for a far-sleeker and futuristic design, free of any of the retro design themes of the Charger, or any other Dodge for that matter.
Technical details about the new Durango aren’t yet known but there’s a good chance the BEV version will share many of its components with the Charger. It’s also possible the ICE models will get the same 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged Hurricane six-cylinder as also offered in the Charger.
