Headquartered in a French château, Bugatti puts a lot of effort into projecting itself as a highly sophisticated company. However, the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse you see here, inspired by the “Transformer” series, demonstrates that Bugatti will still cater to its buyers’ whimsical desires, even the most childish ones.
One of just 92 Veyron Grand Sport Vitesses ever made, the car is exceedingly rare before you even consider the unique customizations. Powered by the 1,183 hp (882 kW / 1,200 PS) W16 engine from the Veyron Super Sport, it can blast to 62 mph (100 km/h) from standstill in just 2.6 seconds.

It was also able to reach a top speed of 255 mph (410 km/h), which made it the fastest roadster ever produced at the time. To ensure it could handle of that power and pace, Bugatti engineers strengthened the chassis to reduce body roll and improve performance.
The individual who purchased this car in 2014 decided to elevate its rarity further by adding a personal touch. Inspired by their fondness for the Transformer movies, the car boasts a distinctive mosaic paint job that forms an Autobots symbol on the hood.
The symbol makes another appearance inside, with a metallic Autobots emblem wedged between the seats – a touch you’d anticipate in a beat-up Camaro belting out Whitesnake tunes, not a multi-million-dollar hypercar. Initially, the seats proudly displayed the name of their first owner, Daniel, on the headrests, but they’ve since been retrimmed to broaden its appeal.
Sadly, Daniel only had the chance to enjoy the hypercar’s immense power for a few miles. In 2016, we reported that the Bugatti was up for sale with just 352 miles (568 km) on the odometer. A few years later, in 2018, it resurfaced for sale again, this time with 522 miles (840 km) on it.
According to Sotheby’s, which is handling the sale of this Veyron GS, it has since been driven a little more, and it now has 3,231 miles (5,200 km) on the clock. It’s nice to see a car like this one being allowed to stretch its legs a bit.
According to the listing, this Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse still presents itself very well, and has been enrolled in the Passport Tranquilite program, which prepays for service. Tied to the car, not the owner, the program is good until December 2024, meaning that this vehicle’s next owner will get to take advantage of the program for a short period of time.
Currently owned in Madrid, Spain, the car is set to be auctioned on between May 1 and 3.
