Disabled Woman Found After 9 Days Trapped In A Towed Cadillac CTS

A bizarre survival story has emerged in Kent, Washington as police have found a disabled woman who was trapped in a vehicle for nine days.

According to the Kent Police Department, the woman was reported missing by her sister on February 14 after no one had seen her for several days.

This kicked off an investigation and an officer eventually discovered the woman was last seen on February 5 with her 45-year old mother. Authorities said the mother parked her vehicle at a gas station and “walked off, leaving her daughter inside the car.”

With the car apparently abandoned, gas station personnel contacted a towing company to haul it away. Unfortunately for the woman, no one noticed she was inside and she ended up spending nine days alone in the Cadillac CTS, in “near freezing weather,” at the tow yard.

Thankfully, she was rescued after officers contacted the towing company and had them check the vehicle. The woman was found to be in “serious” condition and emergency crews took her to a local hospital for treatment.

The investigation is still ongoing, but Kent Police Chief Padilla said “We are extremely relieved that we were able to locate and rescue the victim. If not for the efforts of our Officers and the support of King County Sheriffs and Fire, this incident would likely have ended in tragedy.”

Bonafacio Pauza of Skyway Towing told KING5 that it’s “common for his company to tow vehicles without getting into them.” However, in this case, the tow truck driver reportedly looked in the windows and didn’t see anyone inside. He added, the woman was “laying in the backseat and had a whole bunch of clothes and stuff on top of her.”
