This story contains independent renderings that are neither related to nor endorsed by Tesla

Tesla is in the midst of developing a thoroughly revised version of the Model 3 and these intriguing renderings offer us a glimpse of what it may look like from the rear.

These renderings have been created by Twitter user CYBRTRK420 and look to be based around a leaked image that reportedly shows the revised trunk lid of the new Model 3. While it’s impossible to know at this stage just how accurate these renderings are, we’d certainly be very pleased if the updated taillights of the EV looked like this.

To us, the taillights of the current Model 3 are a little bland and somewhat uninspired. The taillights in these renderings have outer edges similar to those of the current model but are thinner and more angular on the trunklid. The new shape has also allowed for alterations to be made to the shape of the LED signatures found within.

In April, an intriguing image emerged online reportedly showing the updated Model 3 from the front. The vehicle pictured had slimmer headlights than the current car and were similar in shape to those of the second-generation Tesla Roadster (which still doesn’t really exist, by the way…). Given the sleeker and sportier shape of the headlights, we think it’s entirely possible that the taillights will also be made to look a little more aggressive and dynamic.

Beyond the revised exterior, it is understood that the updated Tesla Model 3 will have a new interior. One speculative rendering of the cabin recently shared to Twitter depicts it with a reshaped steering wheel, the removal of the stalks, and an updated screen. It’s important to note that no real-life images of the car’s revised interior have been published so we don’t yet know if it will look anything like this rendering.
