People love to criticize A90-generation Toyota Supra, asserting that it isn’t a real Toyota given how many BMW parts it has and that it doesn’t do the iconic Supra name justice. While we understand these arguments, we maintain that it is still a good sports car that’s plenty of fun to drive.

One criticism frequently leveled against the Supra that we definitely agree with is its tiny cabin and lack of storage space. That’s where a Shooting Brake version could come in handy and were it to look a little like this, we suspect Toyota may struggle to keep up with demand.

These renderings come from Sugar Design who frequently transforms current production cars into Shooting Brakes. In making the Supra a shooting brake (and similar to the BMW Concept Touring Coupe), the designer retained the front half of the car and then proceeded to extend the roofline and in the process, overhauled the shape and size of the side windows.

The Toyota Supra Works As A Shooting Brake But It’s Still A Little Overstyled

The rear is significantly different than the current Supra thanks to the inclusion of a new rooftop spoiler, the more upright rear window, and the smaller lip spoiler on the tiny decklid.

We’ve always thought that the design of the A90 Supra was a little too fussy and had just a few too many lines, fake intakes, and creases. In general, it looks a little overstyled. While we love how the sports car looks as a Shooting Brake, it would look even better if some of the bodywork was simplified, in particularly the over-the-top line that runs from near the base of the doors and morphs into the rear fenders.
